Style and Spirit collage
Registration for American Style and Spirit with Jane Bradbury
Author and historian Jane Bradbury discusses her lifelong fascination with the links between fashion, culture, and society, documented by the collection belonging to her aunt, Augusta Denton Roddis. Miss Roddis was the last descendant of the Marshfield, Wisconsin, family that founded the Roddis Veneer Company and Roddis Plywood Corporation. Ms. Bradbury will show images from her aunt’s fashion collection, much of which is housed at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. For the book, Ms. Bradbury did archival research on her family history and aspects of American business practices at the Wisconsin Historical Society, and she will discuss her journey with the help of this first class facility.
